Christmas Song Book Tag
I was tagged by Lili’s Blissful Pages to do this tag! Thank you so much!
1. “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”
(Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love.)
I’m actually never really a fan of villains. But I can admire the way they slowly take over the world! Villains may never win my heart, but they can make the book so much more awesome.
Grindelwald is so sneeky in fantastic beasts and I can’t wait to see what he will do in the next part! He effectively fooled EVERYONE and even infiltrated the American ministry of magic at a really high level! I LOVED LOVED LOVED IT. He made the story so much better. If a villain can make the rest of the story more enjoyable, than the villain was a succes!
Side note: It was actually quite a close call with Maeve from Throne of Glass! What she did at the end Empire of Storms still blows my mind! Such an evil master mind!
2. “All I Want for Christmas is You”
(Which book do you most hope to see under your Christmas tree?)
This weeks TTT was: Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings. So I’m going to refer to my post from Tuesday as an answer to this question! 😉
3. “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”
(Name a character that overcomes major obstacles and learns to believe in themselves.)
This is actually a non-fiction book. But I think it just fits this question so absolutely perfect. James Bowen is a recovering drug addict who has spend some time living on the street. At the beginning of the story he isn’t at the lowest point he ever was, but also far from the highest point. He meets a streetcat (named Bob) and togheter they actually really change each others life and it’s such a beautiful book about how a cat really can change a persons life.
4. “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”
A) Which character do you think would be on the top of the naughty list?
Ronan Lynch from The Raven Boys absolutely deserves to be on the naughty list! I only read the first book of the series (but I’m planning on reading the rest in early 2018!). So far I really don’t see what the hype surrounding Ronan Lynch is all about. For me he’s just a punk and not a single nice word left is mounth in the entire first book! Maybe he changes and maybe I’ll be a fan of him after reading the other books? But for now, he’s going on the naughty list!
B) Which character do you think would be at the top of the nice list?
At the top of the nice list I’m going to put Percy Newton from The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. He was just sooo sweet and he put up with a lot of Monty’s drama in this book! He also was completely prepared to sacrifise his own life without complaining! He was really perfect and deserves to be on top of the nice list!
5. “Frosty the Snowman”
(Which book just melts your heart.)
So many feelings and so many tears!! The story is some what simular to the story of The Fault in our Stars. It’s really emotional and so incredibly beautiful. If this story can’t melt your heart than nothing probably can.
6. “Feliz Navidad”
(Choose a book that takes place in a country other than your own.)
This is such an easy question. How many young adult books do you know that take place in Belgium, not to many I guess! The fact that it’s so easy also makes it dfficult! So many books to choose from! So I decided to take The Bear and the Nightingale because it’s locate in medieval Russia and it just feels like such a complete difference from the world I live in.
7. “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”
(Which holiday themed book do you use to spread the Christmas joy?)
Now you probably think that I’m obsessed with non-fiction books about cats. This is not the case! I just haven’t read any other holiday themed books that I remember and the other book from James Bowen in this list just is too perfect for that question to search for another book.
8. “Sleigh Ride”
(Which fictional character would you choose to spend the holidays with)
(doesn’t have to be a love interest!)
I would love to spend the holidays reading and talking about books and just relaxing. From all the characters I read about. Lazlo Strange seems the most pefect candidate to join me in this.
9. “Baby it’s Cold Outside”
( Which book that you didn’t like would you sacrifice to a fire to warm yourself up in the cold?)
Difficult one! My first thought was Warcross or Caraval, but they still have beautiful covers… So I probably couldn’t burn them even I was freezing!
So I decided to sacrifice Grey (Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian, #1) by E.L. James.
Not only does it have a boring cover, it also is a completely unnecessary book. i never finished this book, because I didn’t like the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy in the first place. And secondly, if you’ve read the first book of the series, there’s really no need to read this book because nothing new happens or gets revealed.
10. “Do you hear what I hear”
(Which book do you think everyone should read?)
