Disney Book Tag
First of I wanted to say something! I haven’t been posting as much lately, I’m not giving up on the blog or anything! It’s just so crazy busy!! Some of you may know I’m in my last year of uni (almost an engineer) and my thesis has to be finished next week (!!!!) and my exams start June 7th! So, I’m stressing out quite a bit. In a month I will be finished and then I will be here back, with my posts 3 times a week!
I found this amazing tag on Adrianna’s blog, Thrifty Bibliophile. This looked like such a fun thing to do! Go check her out!
1. A whole new world – Pick a book that made you see the world differently.
I think it’s almost impossible to read this book and not see the world differently. I read this book quite young, maybe a bit too young (I believe I was 11 or 12 years old), and reading this at such a young age it really made quite an impact. I really want to read this book again because it has been more than 10 years and I’m really curious how age change the experience of this book, because I honestly only remember 70 of the major plot lines and no details at all.
2. Cruella De Vil – Pick your favorite villain.
THIS CONTAINS BIG SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST BOOK IN THIS SERIES ( and maybe also a few for the second book)
My favourite villain is the kind of villain that has so many good sides you actually arebta sure he or she actually IS a villain. The most boring villains are the ones that haven’t a single good cel in their entire bodies. Rowan in this series is such a good example. He is a murderer and take justices into it’s own hands. He should be punished because he clearly is breaking a lot of important, big rules. But, everyone knows that what he does actually saves people from a lot of unnecessary suffering. Sound like a perfect villain to me!
3. I won’t say I’m in love – Pick a book you didn’t want to admit you loved.
I actually never have any problems with admitting I loved books. So, I’m going to bend this question a little bit. Normally, this kind of covers are for a genre I don’t enjoy reading (there is nothing wrong with the genre, it’s just not my thing). This book just had such a wrong cover, it’s only a mild romance and the overall story is more important than the romance. The reason I chose this book for this question, is because I have to admit that I didn’t have enough self-esteem to read a book with a cover like this out in the open in public.
4. Gaston – Pick a character that you couldn’t stand.
It was a hard choice for me between Caraval and this book. But, I feel like so many people love Caraval to dead and I have spoken badly about it too many times. It’s time to let go of that one for good ?
5. Part of your world – Pick a book set in a universe you wish you could live in.
Maybe not the most obvious choice. This has everything to do with me having to finish my thesis in one month. I’m jut in complete need of a break and I still have 2 hard months filled with thesis and exams and right now a world with a basic income and now real obligations sounds like just the thing I need.
6. A dream is a wish your heart makes – describe what the book of your dreams would be like.
Being a book blogger changed my answer on this question so much!!
A year ago (when I just started reviewing books) my answer would have been: A Young Adult high fantasy novel with quite a bit of romance, but not too much. Something with a kick ass female lead and a lot of power and fae and all those crazy things.
My answer now: I read too much of the Young adult romance types with the kick ass female lead, because they almost always end in the same way and they are sooo predictable. My favourite book now would be written like a fairy tale and everything should feel like a fairy tale, but a fairy tale gone bad. I love it when there are main characters that are just bad, make a lot of bad decisions or are viewed as the devil by everyone else. A book needs to make you think you know what’s going on and then completely change directions and screw everyone over. I still love a bit of romance in my books, but not as much anymore, because it’s often a love story I read many times before Great examples of this kind of books I read recently are:
7. Someday my prince will come – What book character would you marry if you could?
I’m going to mix two characters of two different books and mix them. I want the dreaminess and the passion for stories and life in general from Lazlo Strange and the romance side from Rheysand (I’m so hoping my boyfriend will never read this ?).
8. I see the light – Pick a book that changed your life.
I picked this book because it’s the first book I reviewed on Goodreads, it marked the start of my book reviewer “career” and I’m so happy I started doing this because it’s so great to be a part of this community.
9. When you wish upon a star – Pick a book you wish you could reread for the first time.
I would be betraying myself if I would answer anything else on this question!
After all this time? Always.
10. I just can’t wait to be king – Pick a book with some kind of monarchy in it.
Daughter of the Pirate Long by Tricia Levenseller.
This monarchy is a bit of a special one. If uou haventh heard of this book yet, itsi sooo good go check it out! The story is about a girl and she’s actually half human and half siren. That alone would be so cool, but it gets even beyter because her father is the pirate lord and her mother the siren queen! So much royalty!
11. Colors of the wind – Pick a book with a beautiful colorful cover.
We are at the end of my post!! I hope you enjoyed it! I’m not going to tag anyone this time. But, if you feel like doing this tag please enjoy! It’s a really fun one to do.
