TOP TEN TUESDAY: FAVOURITE THINGS ABOUT BLOGGING

OMG, this week is my blogiversary week!! On thursday it will be exactly one year ago that I decided I was going to start my own blog instead of only reviewing on Goodreads and Amazon and Tumblr…. I’m not going to talk to much about it in this post, I will have a post for the occasion up on Thursday. But, I just want to thank everyone already in this community how made me feel home since day one!

I’m not going to do ten things this week because I just wanted to stick to the point and not make up things, just to get to 10 points.

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. This week’s theme is: “Favourite Book Blogs/Bookish Websites”. But, I’m going to change that a bit and I’m going to do: “Favourite things about blogging”. Because that seemed like a fun twist and it fit perfectly in my anniversary week!

1. THE COMMUNITY

This is without a doubt the number one reason I love blogging. It’s so great to sea that there are so many other people just completely obsessed with books and I feel so welcome in this community. It’s amazing to see that there’s a place on the internet where all the book lovers unite to freak out about books!

2. Reading other peoples blogs!

Some blogs I really love:

A Dance With Books

meltotheany

The Suspense Is Thrilling Me

BOOKLOVERSBLOG

Book Beach Bunny

Flying Paperbacks

Paper Fury

and so many more… It’s so cool that there are so many super talented people out there how can keep writing about books every few days! I admire so many blogs out there 🤭.

3. Excuse to read

Yes, I absolutely use my blog as an excuse for myself to read books. Especially at times when I’m actually to busy to read I really tell myself it’s okay to read because I still have ARCs I need to finish 😁.

2. Talking about books without annoying the people around me

I’m pretty sure a lot of you can relate to this one. Before I had my blog, the most frustrating thing about being a book lover was that nobody I knew had read the book I was currently freaking out about! Now, I have a platform where I can write as much as I want about the books I love (or hate)! This is probably my favourite thing about blogging!

5. Polishing my English (and writing skills)

English isn’t my native language and I’m not particularly talented when it comes to learning a new language. This blog has helped me so much to polish up my English! I even mostly read English books now and that has helped so much. I think reading books is the best way to learn a new language. The dictionary function on the Kindle is also the best invention ever! In the beginning I had to look up a few words per page, now I finish most books without having to look up a single word!

6. All the nice comments!

Something that kept me from starting a blog was the chance of really mean comments or even worse, no comments at all because I was just not good enough. I’m so happy that that wasn’t the case. I haven’t had a single mean comment on this blog, and I’m so happy that I get a lot of response on my posts! That means so much to me! I love reading that people love the same books, or want to read a book because of my review! Best feeling ever!

7. ARCs

This is a nice perk but certainly not the most important thing for me. I love it especially when I can get a book I have been waiting for, for a long time, earlier. It’s such a privilege to be approved for those books!

That was it for this week!! Thursday I will post my blogiversary post. I’m not sure if I’m going to do a giveaway to celebrate yet… I don’t know if enough people would be interested in that… let me know!
